About University
Established in 1991, "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia is a public accredited higher education institution with a name deeply rooted in the historical significance of Alba Iulia. This city hosted the Grand National Assembly on December 1, 1918, which led to the union of Transylvania and Banat with the Kingdom of Romania. Additionally, the coronation ceremony of King Ferdinand I and Queen Maria of Greater Romania took place here in 1922, further highlighting Alba Iulia's importance in national history. Since its establishment, the university has focused on preserving and affirming national identity, unity in diversity of Romanian culture, and integrating these values into the European and universal context through education, research, and value creation.
For over 30 years, the university has provided optimal conditions for students and faculty, continually improving its educational offerings, study conditions, and services.
